Baby Shower Games ? 10 Fun Games Everyone Will Love

Baby Shower Games ? 10 Fun Games Everyone Will Love

If you are looking for Baby Shower Games that are extremely fun for everyone, and that are easy to plan and participate in, then you will love the games listed below. From word games to memory games, acting games to girly games, to even meaningful games and activities – there are games for every preference and setting. Have fun!

1) Baby Memory Game: Before the shower, place roughly 25 items on a cookie sheet that the mother-to-be will need. Bring the cookie sheet out with all the items for everyone to view for about 30-40 seconds. Then, remove the pan of items and everyone will have about 2 minutes to write down as many items that they can remember. The person who writes the most down will receive a prize, and all the items will go to the mother. (Examples of items: bottle, brush, pacifier, bib, soap, blanket, burp cloth, wipes, shoes, socks, diaper, pins, teddy bear, rattle, onesie, baby food, ear syringe, etc.)

2) Gerber Taste & Smell Guessing: In preparation, buy many different kinds of baby foods and remove the labels (but make sure you remember or mark which one is which). Place all the bottles on a tray and pass it around to all the women. Women can taste or smell each food, and then write down their guess on their own paper. The woman who guesses the most right gets a prize.

3) Mystery Guess: As guests arrive, have a jar full of random baby items the mother-to-be will need. It can have: binky’s, diapers, rags, onesies, soaps, lotions, socks, etc. Each guest will take a paper and make a guess as to how many total items they think are in the jar. The person who guesses closest will receive a prize at the end of the shower (and of course, all the items go to the mother-to-be).

4) Baby Shower Bingo: As exciting as it is watching the mom-to-be open all her presents, this game will help all the others watching have a little fun as well. Label each gift that was brought by simply writing a number on the gift (if 15 gifts were brought, number the gifts 1-15).  Then, each woman will take a paper and create 15 squares and randomly place the numbers 1-15 throughout their squares. Each woman will place their numbers individually, so each person’s numbers are in different squares. Also, if there are more or less than 15 gifts, create as many squares on the paper as gifts. Then, when mom-to-be opens a present, she’ll call out that gift’s number, and everyone will mark off that number on their sheet. Once someone gets 5 in a row (or an X, borders, or blackout), they get a prize.

5) Baby Alphabet: Each guest will take a pen and paper, and along the left side of the paper they will vertically write all the letters of the alphabet. At ‘go,’ each woman will write as many baby items as they can for each letter. For the letter B, as an example, you might write: bottle, binky, burp cloth, brush, booties, etc. If a guest wrote these, they would get 5 points for the letter B. Each guest receives a point for every item they write down; however, if they did not write anything down for a letter (or multiple letters), they lose a point for every letter they did not write an item. A prize is given to the woman who wrote the most down. To make it more difficult and fun, allot 10 seconds for each letter, and people only get points for writing something that nobody else wrote down. Go through every letter, and the person with the most points wins.

6) Baby Pictures: Before the shower, ask for the baby pictures of all those that will be attending. And for fun, get a baby picture of grandma (if she is no longer with you), a close neighbor friend, a celebrity, even dad or an uncle just for fun, etc. (make sure everyone knows or would know who the person is). Make a collage of all the pictures and number each baby picture. Each guest will then write down who they think each baby photo is of. The person who guessed the most right will win a prize.

7) Unscramble the Baby Words: In preparation, write down about 20-30 baby words/items. Then, unscramble the letter in each word. Place all the words on one page and make copies for each guest. Then, divide everyone into teams of two and give them 5 minutes to unscramble as many words as they can. The team to unscramble the most receives a prize.

8) Baby Drawing Charades: In preparation, write down about 20 baby related items on their own individual slip of paper, and place all the slips in a bowl. Items could be: bottle, crib, rocking chair, car seat, burp cloth, etc. Divide the group into two teams and one person from each team will come to the front. They will draw out one slip and both look at it. At ‘go,’ these two will then have to draw this item (without talking) to their teammates. The team that guesses first receives a point.  Send another person from each team up, so each person has a turn drawing. The team with the most points at the end receives a prize.

9) Story Time & Advice: Women and mothers always love talking about their children. So, if other mothers attend the shower, have each one of them take just a few minutes each to share both a funny experience as a mother with a baby, and then any advice they have for the new mother-to-be.

10) Guess the Price: In preparation, purchase many items that the mother-to-be will need. (Examples: crib, stroller, diapers, clothing items, lotion, wet wipes, burp clothes, bibs, soap, powder, etc.) Then, write down what each individual item actually costs. For the game, pull one item out at a time and have each guest make a guess as to how much that item actually costs (guests will write guesses on their own paper). Once all items have been guessed, the right prices will be revealed. Each player will reveal what they wrote and the person who guessed closest for that particular prize gets a point. Then the next item’s price is revealed, and this repeats. Whichever guest has the most points after all item’s prices have been revealed will receive a prize.

Personalized Gift Baskets – How To Make Your Own For A Baby Shower

Personalized Gift Baskets - How To Make Your Own For A Baby Shower

It is a wonderful gesture to personalize a baby's gift. It makes the gift distinct, different, special and often times cherished by the parents and the child themselves as they get older.

Yet, many people are still unsure of the child's name and no doubt the child's birthdate. One option is to give a gift certificate along with the gift to be personalized for either an engraving or etching design. After the big day arrives and things have relaxed a bit, they can take the certificate and get it finally done.

What Can Be Engraved?

Listed below are some things that can be engraved:

- Cups
- Picture Frames
- Jewelry
- Cutlery Set
- Books

An wonderful gift that can be embroidered with the baby's name with his or her name meaning is a blanket. Remember Linus in the Peanuts cartoon? He had a blanket he loved since he was a baby. No doubt this gift would do the same for the baby as he got older.

Baby Gift Basket - Done Right Out of Love

There is no doubt that gift baskets are very popular in this age. There are several ways a gift basket can be done. Either purchased ready-made or made to order or one where you do the work by yourself. You will place all the necessary items you think the baby would need.

How to Make a Gift Basket

There are eight things to consider when making a baby gift basket by yourself.

- Be sure you know the size of the basket you want to use. A large basket might seem to pick and too little of one and there isn't enough room, so a medium sized basket will do and is highly recommended. Many craft stores like Hobby Lobby sells baskets in many different shapes, sizes and colors. Things that make great fillers for the bottom are raffia and shredded tissue paper like paper towels. Laying the baby towels and blankets in top of these can make it look inconspicuous.

- Should you choose the large basket, be sure to get large items such as crib comforters, a stuffed toy, pillows and baby crib bumpers.

- Baby's gender should be taken into consideration when putting together a gift basket. The first baby will need many items. Should the mother have a gift registry, using that as a guide can help fill your basket up. If there is none set up, ask the mother directly on what else she needs for the baby.

- Use a theme. If you know the sex, you can load it with everything pink or blue. Or you can have it as a Winnie the Pooh basket or even a Cars design. Perhaps a bedtime basket filled with plenty of bedtime story books, a music CD, blankets, pajamas; so on and so forth. Be creative when you let your imagination go.

- Instead of using a basket for the gift "basket" use a small laundry basket, trunk and a diaper bag. Even a baby tub will work especially if the mother does not have one yet.

- Baby tubs can also be filled with towels, shampoo and soaps as well as lotions and oils. Do not forget the all important baby powder.

- A trunk can be used to fill it with the baby's keepsake items whether they are books, heirlooms, receiving blankets and monogrammed outfits or other items.

- A laundry basket could filled with baby slippers, diapers, combs, brushes, booties and clothes.

All these items are things a mother will use eventually. Let your imagination go wild and see what becomes of your gift basket.

Beyond Ordinary: Unique Baby Shower Invitations

Beyond Ordinary: Unique Baby Shower Invitations

Having a baby is one of the most monumental events in one’s life and celebrating this occasion is a great opportunity to share with your closest and dearest friends and family. Choosing the best stationery available for this baby shower can be a difficult task, but choosing the invitations does not need to be.

We are all used to the traditional baby shower invites of promising pink or blue accompanied by the sweet little ribbons attached and a neat border around the words. However, there are many styles of invitations for this type of event.

Nowadays, there are thousands of DIY ideas, with the rise in popularity of scrap booking, and women's magazines, you can let your imagination run wild. Here are a few ideas to get you going.

The Creativity Inspired by Knowing

If you know the sex of the baby it makes the options for specialized invites much easier, as well as opening up the option in a specific direction. For example if it is a girl, then the invites can be in the form of little dolls. You can buy small inexpensive dolls from your 99-cent store. Once you have the dolls, you can tie the small invitation around the neck in the form of a bib, color coordinating, as you desire.

If you choose to use a doll for your invitation, small clothing for dolls is also a great option. This is a great template for your invitation. Machine activated and run embroidery can emboss almost anything onto material, so why not your invitations? The idea is the same as the bib mentioned above, but in this case, it can be baby-sized baby grows or doll cloths – just make sure your chosen item is large enough to fit your message.

The special advantage of these alterative invitations is that they should not be thrown away, stuffed in a shoebox, or placed in the attic. They can be kept and enjoyed as tiny works of art, and a reminder of the special event that celebrated the arrival of new life.

Waiting for the Surprise

When the sex of the baby is not known, then the options lead more towards the unisex theme. You may feel that your options here are more limited, but this is not a limitation on your options, but merely a new category! Think here in terms of general colors and objects that apply to both boys and girls. Diapers, rattles, and pacifiers may all be used as the medium for your message.

A simple yet effective invite is the pacifier and by simply attaching the invite to the pacifier with a well chosen ribbon is great, but you can take it one step further and use flavored candy pacifiers that everyone can bring along and enjoy at the special occasion.

The same idea can work with a rattle or any simple baby toy. You just have to attach the invite to the toy using a ribbon, and you instantly have a unique and colorful invitation.

Make Technology Work for You

If many of your invites are to be sent through the mail, then acknowledging that we live in a technologically advanced age can be fun!

Make a CD or even a DVD invitation. Fill the disc with your choice of soothing lullabies or your own calming music. With an introduction of you inviting your guest to the party while including all of the relevant details and information. An audio clip is perfect, but if you have the opportunity, a video clip is even better!

Safe with the Classics

You can never go wrong with a well thought out box of goodies because everybody loves gifts, even if it is just a novelty item. People love getting interesting items with an invite, and one or two small gifts that are applicable to the situation is the perfect way to make your invitation and the party a memorable one.

Fill a box with all the things you can partake of while pregnant, or the things you have started craving the most! Fill the box with items that may define your life for the next several years, like baby food, bibs, tissues, headache tablets, and a soothing jazz compilation for those tough days.

Baby shower invitations can be a fun and rewarding experience because they allow you to use your creativity. There are many invitation themes available for this type of event, but you may want to consider creating your own. By using items and colors that symbolize a baby such as a pacifier, diaper, toys or dolls, you can really set the tone of the event. These invitations can also be treated as a gift or work of art because of the time and effort put into their creation. If you are planning a baby shower in the near future, you may want to consider these tips for finding the best type of invitation for your event.

Great Baby Shower Gift Ideas

Great Baby Shower Gift Ideas

It can be hard to know what to give an expecting mom at her baby shower, particularly if there will be a lot of people there. Toys are fairly impractical for a newborn and many other items like strollers or baby slings will be provided by someone else, or the expectant mother may have already purchased her own.

Baby clothes are an excellent way to go when you aren`t sure what to give at a baby shower. Babies go through so many outfits and you really can never have too many cute onesies. Plus, if you opt for baby discount clothes, you don`t have to spend a fortune on a baby shower gift and you can get even more for the baby-to-be. But you don`t want to be ordinary, so here are a few ideas on how to give baby clothes in a unique manner.

Baby Clothes Gift Basket

Looking for a fun and unique idea? Get a baby tub and pack it full of items for the baby. Discount clothing, onesies, a couple of soft towels and some bath sponges are perfect. The new mom will have a tub for those first baths and plenty of baby clothes for dressing her little one in afterwards. Package everything attractively (wrap each item individually or simply roll the baby clothes into neat bundles) and use baby themed cellophane to cover.

Onesie Cake

You`ve heard of diaper cakes . . . why not make one out of cute little onesies? It takes a bit of dexterity, but you can make a mini cake out of onesies and decorate with a couple of rattles, pacifiers or other baby items. If you don`t want to go to all that trouble, get a premade diaper cake and just twirl onesies into baby flowers to decorate it.

Unique Onesies

Buy a handful of plain onesies from a baby discount clothing store and decorate them yourself. Use fabric paint (make sure it`s non-toxic), felt cutouts or iron on transfers to create onesies that reflect the character of the parents. If the baby`s father is a golf fanatic, for example, you might do a green onesie with a golf ball on it and the words “Daddy`s Little Putter”. Use your imagination and come up with some fun designs. These are bound to be a hit at any baby shower.

Gift Sets

Rather than purchase simple, pre-made baby shower gift sets, make your own. Include a cute outfit or two from a baby discount clothing store, hand-embroidered or knit booties, a little hat and perhaps a tiny bracelet. What you add to the gift set should reflect the parents` personality and this will make it far more special than any pre-packaged gift.

Baby showers can be a lot of fun if you aren`t stressed out about the gift. Onesies and baby clothing in general is an ideal gift and one you can never get enough of as a new mom! Use the tips above to turn your ordinary baby clothing into something special and meaningful.

Baby Shower Gifts: Modern Or Traditional?

Baby Shower Gifts: Modern Or Traditional?

A baby shower is a celebration that is typically thrown by family members, friends or colleagues to acclaim the joyous expectant parents-to-be. Since then up to now, the purpose of baby showers hasn't change, that is to shower baby gifts to the parents-to-be with the sentiment of bounty graces and best wishes. This celebration is one way for family and friends to gather and to share happy moments in welcoming the incoming little child.

Traditional Gifts

Baby shower is the time to give gifts for the new mom and dad. Gifts for showers are of different selection, they can range from simple baby products and supplies to baby furniture. These items are known to be traditional gifts during baby showers. These are commonly found at baby gift shops with a variety of price range as well. You can also find lots of products like these via Internet that can offer exclusive information about shower gifts for infants.

People usually opt for traditional gifts like baby clothing, feeding bottles, baby gift baskets, toys and furniture. These are quite easy to find, and very useful for both parents and their child. When buying clothing, consider choosing larger ones which are quite enough for the child's use until he or she reachesd 6 mos old. Also, don't forget to check what they are made of and what materials were used, choose those that were made with pure organic materials. Use the same idea with other products and supplies. For baby furniture, antique shops are the popular place to buy from. However, you should also cautiously check furniture before purchasing, this is an ideal way of determining you're getting the high quality ones.

Modern Gifts

Modern gifts are obviously the hottest and trendy option for modernized baby showers. These items come in a wide variety of stylish selections where they can be custom-made. Many people today opt for modernized options like personalized gifts for babies because they can be a wonderful way to show affection. These are more fun and special, and other personalized gifts aren't only for babies. Other variety of personalized items can make a perfect gift for dad, mom, older sister or brother and even for grandma and grandpa.

You can find personalized gifts for baby, from simple to elegant and from cheap to expansive. The choices are literally vast. Wondering where to look for these cool items? Try browsing the Internet and you'll be surprised with tons of online stores that offer custom-made baby supplies ranging from adorable clothing, crib bedding set and blankets, toys, feeding supplies, furniture to baby nursery decor. Also, you'll get to choose your own desired designs, styles, colors and themes. If the shower party has a theme, it is better to buy gifts that follow the theme. Theme examples are the baby's gender, animals, cartoons, sporty, ambition-to-be and the like. Make it more special by having the baby's initials on the items. Personalizing can be done by monogramming, embroidering or engraving.

Inexpensive Ideas for a Baby Shower

Inexpensive Ideas for a Baby Shower

A few guests can get together and get a big laundry basket. Place in it a long clothes line with outfits, diapers, bibs, etc. pinned to it. It can also be used as a room decoration. It has a bit of everything and something to carry it in!

Baby Quilt - here is a great gift from those that love to sew and quilt. Find an alphabet quilt pattern. Each square has a letter of the alphabet on it and a picture of an object that started with that letter. It can have numbers too. Each guest can be given/sent a square before the shower and can embroider, quilt, or embellish it according to her own taste. If the quilt is meant to be a wall hanging, guests can also attach little items like rattles and toys. Be sure that everyone signs their own block in some way and have the blocks returned by a certain date in order to have it put together. This can also be used as a decoration at the shower.

Make a scrapbook album. Take blank scrapbook pages and have everyone write down their well wishes (without Mom knowing it) for the new baby. This can be done at or before the shower and can be given at the shower or to Mom while she is in the hospital. If given after the shower, it can include photos taken there.

Pass out sheets of heavy paper decorated with baby related stamps, stickers, or pictures several lines drawn on. Have the guests write their name on the paper and then write down some baby/parenting advice. Once everyone is finished, collect them, add a cover, punch holes in it, and tie it together with some ribbon. Then hand it to Mom to read aloud. This will be entertaining as well as touching and is a nice keepsake. There is tons of room for creativity on this one.

Have each guest bring an extra gift (small item recommended) for Daddy-to-be and the host of the shower will then place them in large gift bag to present to him at the close of the party (usually after the main gifts are opened). He opens this with Mommy-to-be at home or in presence of close family or friends.

Diaper Shower--- For a second (or more) baby, consider a diaper shower. Ask each guest to bring only a package of diapers as a gift. Some guests may bring other gifts also, but Mom will end up with a mountain of diapers, something she will really need! Items could also include anything associated with diapering such as wipes, ointment, powder, etc.

Casserole Shower--- For the mother who has everything already, how about a Casserole Shower? Have each guest bring a casserole or other ready-to-cook meal that can be frozen or stored until after the baby is born. Be sure to have the containers clearly labeled with contents and any cooking instructions. How helpful that will be when Mom and Baby come home!

Book Party--- Have each guest purchase and give a copy of their favorite childhood book.

What To Put In A Baby Shower Gift Basket

What To Put In A Baby Shower Gift Basket

You will be surprised how much pleasure you give to a person on the receiving end of a personalized baby gift as well as claiming a sense of satisfaction knowing you donated well. To personalize an item is a fabulous way to leave your mark where your gift is lovingly treasured for years to come.

Very popular items given at baby showers are baby beakers, guilt edged photo frames, baby trinkets and silverware also woolly fleeced baby blankets embroidered with the name of baby or their initials. Names and their meaning stitched neatly in coloured cottons onto an item of clothing make an excellent personalized gift for both mother and baby.

Baby Gift baskets definitely take lead in holding top position as the  most given gift at a baby shower. Below you will find a few ideas to help you organise your perfect gift basket donation.

Wicker holders can be bought in florists or craft shops and come in different shapes and sizes or better still ready made
First you must take into account the size of the basket that is to be used. Warning - the bigger the basket the more to fill thus incurring more costs so consider a medium size gift basket. . To pad or line your basket use shredded tissue paper or scrunched raffia. This can be  layered around the sides and at the bottom along with items that you have for the baby.

If you are adamant on having a large basket then fill it the same way only this time stuff and cram in more padding. You need not struggle to fill the basket if you add bigger items like a baby pillow or cushion -  one of each if need be.

Knowing the gender of the baby will make your task a slight easier in helping you decide on what is to goe into your gift basket. Ask the pregnant mum for a baby registry list if she has one, this will also help with your content picking. Let your imagination run wild when making selections. Fillers like cloth nappies, disposable diapers, teething rings, and baby feeding bottles are gifts that are welcomed with open arms as they are all useful for mom when raising the baby.

It is to your advantage knowing the gender of the new baby on the way because you now know what colour to work with when personalizing your gift basket. A theme like the forever favourite bedtime topic is very popular - maybe this is because baby sleeps most of the time since birth. Fairy tale books, musical CDs, soft to touch blankets, puffy cushions, music mobiles and cuddly toys are common choices as fillers for this theme.

If you are of a creative nature then make your gift with a difference by filling a baby bath tub, a mummy holdall bag or even a small laundry basket. Baby wash tubs can contain bathing accessories e.g talcum powder, soaps, towels, baby shampoo, and not forgetting the rubber duck.

If you are filling a trunk in place of a Baby Gift Basket then include baby keepsakes.  If the laundry basket is your choice of container then pack it with slippers, baby wipes, brush and comb set and baby clothes.
What to put into your Baby Gift basket could prove to be a problem because of the endless options. You can always call in an expert for help and guidance.

If you want to be remembered for a long time to come and filling the basket is proving to be an ordeal then pad the Baby Gift Basket with BANK notes then you will never be forgotten.

Ideas For Baby Shower Gift Baskets

Ideas For Baby Shower Gift Baskets

Personalizing a baby's gift is an excellent idea, making the gift distinct and special and grows into a cherished token through the years. When giving or making a gift sooner, before the baby's due, you are faced with a problem, that is, you are not yet certain of the name and the birth date. An option to consider is by giving a gift certificate for an etching or engraving design along with your gift. This way, when the wonderful day arrives, the parents can take your gift and have it personalized.

Choices for personalized gifts are baby cups, picture frame, jewelry or a cutlery set. There are wide selections of items that can be personalized; all you have to do is look.

A blanket for baby embroidered with the baby's name alongside the name's meaning would make an excellent gift for both mom and baby.

Your labor of love gift basket

Gift baskets are very popular today and indeed a wonderful idea which can either be purchased made-to-order or ready-made. Or, you can do it yourself by putting together all baby items that you like for the baby. Here's how you can make one:

1. Know first the size of the basket that you will use. A very large basket may be difficult to fill, so a medium sized is recommended. Usually, craft stores sell baskets of different sizes, shapes and colors. Shredded tissue paper and raffia make great fillers to be layered at the basket's bottom, alongside with baby towels and blankets.

2. If you do have a large basket, you can easily fill it up by choosing bigger items as well, such as crib comforters, stuffed bunny or teddy, pillows or crib bumpers.

3. Take into consideration the baby's gender, what really the baby needs. For a first baby, there will be many things that he will need. Having to look at a baby registry if the mom to be has one, can help a lot, since you will know what the baby really needs. If there is none, you could always ask the mom what else she needs for the baby.

4. Consider having a theme. You can load the basket with everything pink for a baby girl or everything blue for a baby boy, or everything having a "pooh" or a dinosaur design. A bedtime theme basket filled with story books, music CD, blankets, pillows, pajama, musical crib mobile and a teddy bear can be a wonderful idea. Be creative and let your imagination soar.

5. Another way of being creative is instead of using a basket, a baby tub, a diaper bag, a small laundry basket or a trunk can also be used.

6. For a tub, you can fill it with baby bathing accessories, such as soaps, towels, bubble bath, powder, baby shampoo, lotion and bath rubber toys.

7. For the trunk, you can fill it with baby's keepsake book, monogrammed items, receiving blankets, heirloom items, a picture frame and an inspirational book all about mom and baby. You can also place a little inspirational note containing all your wishes for the baby. This will add a more personal touch to your gift.

8. For the laundry basket, you can fill it with cute slippers, diapers, baby comb and brush, booties, and baby clothes.

Adding Graphics To Your Baby Shower

Adding Graphics To Your Baby Shower

The good news is we are having a baby and the bad news is all the expense that comes with the upkeep of raising the infant. The funny thing about it all is - how we have to start paying out before the baby is even on the scene. The first part where costs start to incur is with the holding of a baby shower party.
Baby Shower Graphics need not cause your pocket sorrow as these can be done by your own creative hand.

Once the host to the baby shower party has organised all other activities like the games and what food is to be eaten then they will take the next steps to securing a successful party by applying the Baby Shower Graphics. It is this part of the occasion that will surely attract the attention from those invited.

If the mother-to-be has decided on a theme for the baby shower get together then the graphics can be implemented right away. Picture graphics to match the décor of the room, on the invitations or engraved on the gift favors will add to your venue what every baby shower has and that is - a colourful atmosphere.

To save on the pennies you should consider printing out your very own personalized invitations. Pictures relating to your theme can be found on the internet which you can use as your Baby Shower Graphics. Designing your own invitations will not only cut costs but give you a great feeling of self worth because of your achievement.
By adding Baby Shower Graphics to the invitation or thank you cards you will give the guest an insight to what the baby shower party is all about - also an added bonus is where you get to put your feelings into words on the invites.

If the gender of the new baby has been identified then use coloured card for invites that match the sex of baby- once again by doing this you have helped the guest by letting them know that the new baby is going to be a boy/girl - this will aid the guest in making the appropriate gift donation. In a nutshell - no returning of a blue pacifier should the baby be a girl.

Have your own Baby Shower Graphics movie show by having a projection of images displayed on the wall of your venue where the celebration is to take place. Animated movements and rotation goes down well at baby parties.
Scattered cushions around the room with embroidered pictures of different Disney characters will brighten up the whole occasion making the whole scene stand out in saying this day is all about baby.

A good idea to make this baby shower a success is to have all the guests come dressed up in costume relating to the theme and reward the winner with a prize for the best turned out. Warning if there is a possibility of favouritism then have the guests wear masks and ask them not to utter a word so that there is no voice recognition till the judging is done. Do the judging right away as soon as every one has arrived.
Guests can personalize their gifts with Baby Shower Graphics also. If the chosen topic is known in advance then blend it into your baby gift. Items like baby mugs, engraved pictures or a baby gift basket filled with goodies will be a nice a gesture.

Baby Shower Gifts – Why Not Settle for the Best?

Baby Shower Gifts - Why Not Settle for the Best?

To find the best baby shower gift to welcome a newborn child, choosing the right one can be challenging. Because a plethora of sources are widely available, you may find it difficult to pick out the perfect choice suited for babies. However, don't let this head-cracking consideration bother you to find the best for the special one.

Popular best items to give for babies are clothing. This may sound very ideal and practical for most moms. Clothing are one of the most important necessities of infants as they grow older. Though most moms had a bad experience receiving clothing that can cover enough of the baby for six months, the trick here is to consider buying cute outfits that are slightly larger than the baby's current size.

Another factor to be considered is buying a 100% pure fabric that is most ideal for sensitive delicate skin of infants. This idea may be very significant for most moms to secure their baby's health condition while using the item. Items like these are available in most baby store outlets and online stores. There is no other thoughtful way like giving a healthy present for the little angel.

You may also consider personalized clothing. This can make a great special present for a little darling. How would you like to see an angel wearing a nice outfit with his/her initials embroidered on it? This is another wonderful item that is worth to be cherished and remembered.

Baby gift basket can make a big surprise too. Welcoming a child with a basket filled with cool items is perfect to make the shower party more fun. This is going to be like a fiesta for the parents where a bunch of great and useful items are waiting for their little one. The basket may be loaded with fun and colorful items depending on the desired theme. Items like baby food, bibs, sacks, hats, teething toys, teddies and other fun and cool items intended for baby's use.

And if you are creative enough, you may either give your artistic touch by incorporating different designs and add ups to make the basket look more exciting. You might consider adding colorful ribbons and the like. Of course, the basket doesn't have to be a real basket, you may use baby bath tubs, laundry basket, cribs, buckets and others that can hold plenty of wonderful stuff. All you have to do is to explore your creative mind to come up with perfect gift basket with humor and style.

Another popular item you must include to your gift check list is furniture. This is something that makes every mom happy. Furniture is very useful that can make every mom's task easier. They can even be a good decorative accessory in the baby's room or nursery. These items can be expensive, but not only moms will get to enjoy this but also the baby. Beds and cribs are furniture that can help the infant rest safely and quietly with a more comfy feeling. Other furniture like high chairs, dresser or cabinet, changing table, nursery storage, toy boxes, mirrors and the like can be perfect as baby christening gifts also. All these can make great new baby gift ideas that will put a smile on every parent's face.

Baby Shower Gifts And Traditions

Baby Shower Gifts And Traditions

The early tradition was to give handmade gifts before the christening of the child and the grandmother would usually offer the gift of a silver item.

This is probably where the idea of silver rattles and silver spoons came from. The idea of giving gifts to the new mother after the birth of her infant stemmed from the idea that newborn infants were very delicate and prone to falling ill. Visitors were not invited to meet the infant until they were at least a month old.

This tradition continued until the early part of the twentieth century, before women began arranging tea parties for new mothers. This was done after the birth, again due to the fact that pregnant ladies refrained from going out in public. The shower was modelled around the concept of the bridal shower, another special day in any womans life.

The term baby shower is most often used to denote a celebration for a first time mother, whereas parties held for mothers who are expecting their second, or third child celebrate a baby sprinkles party instead. The gifts brought for the mother and baby can be many and varied.

Bath products are very popular and can include soaps, baby powder, shampoo, body lotions and the like. Useful items like nappies, pacifiers, bibs, clothes, hair brushes and teething rings are also popular gift items. It is more likely that the close family would offer the gift of a silver or gold baby bracelet.

Blankets, hoods and socks are other useful and popular items. Soft toys like plush teddies, round balls and even mobiles to hang above the infants crib also make lovely baby gifts. Personalized gifts are a lovely gesture and many items can be engraved with the infants name. Alternatively clothing items can be embroidered to the same effect.

Baby keepsakes make a lovely gift that can be kept for many years. You could purchase a kit for making a handprint or footprint in clay that can be dried and hung as an ornament. Photo frames also make a lovely, thoughtful gift for displaying early photos of the new family.

Memory boxes are another great gift to give at a shower. On the exterior are places to display a photograph and a handprint or footprint and i

nside is space to store little keepsakes. Piggy banks are another thoughtful gift item that is ideal a gift for a baby shower.

Naturally there are some gifts that are more suitable for boys and some that are infinitely better suited to girls and color scheme is also a factor when choosing a gift. You will find many color options available, but traditionally pink is for girls and blue is for boys, with more neutral colors being green and yellow. Baby photo albums are also a good choice for baby shower gifts as they are useful items for safely storing all your photographic memories.

All of these make lovely baby shower gift ideas and they can be included in a baby gift basket that is many gifts in one. Find that perfect gift for new baby at http://www.mybabygiftbasketsandmore.com

Top Baby Shower Favors For 2009-2010!

Top Baby Shower Favors For 2009-2010!

Baby showers have really become a big deal! Once upon a time, they were modest events that took place on a kindly friend's couch over tea and bingo cards -- but these days they can be grand celebrations, bringing together family scattered over thousands of miles (not to mention a hundred or more of mom's closest friends). Of course, any family event this important deserves a life marker, and baby showers are no exception!

Which brings us to the favors. Not only are baby shower favors a sweet little grace note reminding us of a kinder era, they also solve the concrete problem of how to thank guests for devoting a whole afternoon to you (given that free time is a rarer and rarer commodity in this world). And, they're one of the best ways to really have fun with your shower theme!

You won't be surprised to hear that just like everything else in design and entertainment, baby shower favors go through trends and style changes. And this year, several types of favors were serious standouts.

So which particular favors led the charge? Well, personal-care items for purses were hot, such as personalized mini lip balms, or small portable hand creams. Baby showers also saw a lot of chocolate-dipped fortune cookies (perfect for that chic Asian-fusion theme).

Also popular: spa items, like mini containers of bath confetti. And finally, that timeless drawer-sweetener, the herbal sachet, graced plenty of showers with its satiny fabrics and adorable shapes (like baby bibs and bloomers).

But even these much-loved items weren't the top of the tops this year -- five types of baby shower favors were even hotter. Which ones? We'll tell you -- read on for the countdown!

Fifth most popular: novelty favors. Baby showers are prime time for these types of favors, which keep everyone talking. Great examples: the salt & pepper shakers shaped like hatching chicks, "Baby on Board" expandable pens, or "Baby is Brewing" kitchen timers shaped like mini teapots. These types of favors typically come with great packaging, and they're guaranteed to get your guests smiling.

Fourth most popular: Cake Towels. The presentation is fabulous on these zero-calorie favors, designed to look like jelly rolls or strawberry cheesecake slices. Yum! Plus, the festive colors really liven up your table, and guests can use these long after the event.

Third most popular: baby-themed votives and candles. There's something about the timelessness of a candle that makes it oh-so-apropos for important occasions like this one. Possibly, that's why highly designed candles with baby themes remain one of the top choices for shower favors, whether it's a pink votive bedecked with a sparkling teddy bear design, or a poured-mold type of candle such as a sparkly baby carriage in a gift box.

Second most popular: Choice Crystal favors. These favors just keep reigning at the top of the list! Favorite choices include Choice Crystal booties, pacifiers, and angel figurines, all with a pretty gift box. Weighty and dazzling, these favors really rise to the level of keepsakes, despite their inexpensiveness.

And the most popular favor of all? Plantable favors. We all know going green and being eco-minded is huge in entertaining, and that includes baby showers! And among the eco-friendliest are the plantable favors, which give your guests a little one-on-one time with Mother Earth. Of course, these favors come in bright and cheery shapes like sunny daisies, and month after month, they fly off the shelves -- maybe because they're the most powerful reminder around of how your new little treasure will bloom!

Head over to FavorIdeas for a fabulous selection of unique baby shower favors, including the web's most popular choices for 2009. And then, want incredibly stylish free printable baby shower invitations? Just stop by at PlanYourBabyShower for selections you won't believe.
